Hornets Sting Mavericks on Chris Paul's Comeback Game
The night Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets came back from an injury might have been the night he was not needed the most. The Hornets beat the Mavericks for a 115-99 victory. Marcus Thorton, David West, Morris Peterson and Darren Collison did a very good job in keeping the Dallas team in check.
“We won. I was just happy to get out there on the court,” Paul said. “I wasn’t worrying about scoring or anything like that. I just wanted to try to get the feel back and get the win.”
During Paul's absence, the backup guards, Collison and Thorton, have flourished and grew to become future top-of-the-line guards in the league. But CP3's presence is definitely still welcome.
“It was great having CP out there even though he didn’t play a lot,” Thornton said. “Just having him out there being a floor leader was great. We fed off that."
The team will most probably be conservative with CP3's playing time as they are already out of the playoff race.
